Protecting girls from the triple threat
Tiko works with donors focused on sexual reproductive health and gender to expand integrated service delivery models that address unintended pregnancy, HIV and sexual violence simultaneously with the goal of unlocking larger, multi-sector funding opportunities.
Innovations in health technologies
Long-acting and self-administered health technologies reduce adolescent girls’ need for frequent clinic visits while improving continuity of care. These include: scaling service infrastructure around injectable HIV prevention prophylaxis Lenacapavir (LEN), self-injectable contraceptive methods, and positioning pharmacies as trusted, girl-friendly access points for self-care products and services.
Corporate partnerships to create shared value
Through shared-value and CSR partnerships, corporates can reach new youth markets for health and wellness products through ethical marketing, behaviour change communication, and in-kind support, including sanitary pads and personal care products.
Keep girls’ education on track
Girls have big dreams for their futures but pregnancy, HIV and sexual violence take them out of school and prevent them planning for their future. Tiko partners with livelihood and education-focused funders to support girls to return to school or pursue career goals through our health-first ecosystem approach.
Tiko’s technology and platform approach
Tiko’s technology platform is a proven driver of girl-centred, data-driven health equity. We partner with tech-focused donors to strengthen digital public goods for adolescent health. We are currently seeking bespoke investment to build Tiko AI, leveraging predictive analytics, large language models (LLMs), product identification, and biometrics to increase efficiency and personalisation.
Strengthening health systems and local leadership
Tiko is one of the few locally-led African organizations delivering adolescent health programmes in close partnership with government. We work with systems-oriented donors focused on health systems strengthening and localisation.
Innovation and bespoke projects
Girls’ needs continue to evolve. Tiko actively develops bespoke initiatives in response. We collaborate with niche and research-focused donors to design complementary projects around emerging priorities, including ways to assess vulnerability and ensure equity outcomes, new service delivery models, linkages to other health and related wellbeing services, and applied research.
